Volunteering at the Art Market Topic: Service Learning Outcome 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance To be honest, the main reason that I wanted to volunteer was pretty selfish. I wanted to be at school around people from school after doing online learning for almost a year. Even though I wouldn't be exposed to everything at once, I was really looking forward to seeing at least one of my classmates again and walking on campus. I came to realize that what I wanted was exactly what the purpose of this event was fulfilling, bringing the Post Oak community together after distancing for so long. The Art Market was sort of a revamp of the art gala that took place every other year. Every class came up with an art collection that would be bought by a parent through a bid, this year it was through a raffle system.
